Dimethicone/Zinc Cream is used for:
Treating and preventing diaper rash. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Dimethicone/Zinc Cream is a protectant. It works by relieving skin irritation and reducing wetness.
Do NOT use Dimethicone/Zinc Cream if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Dimethicone/Zinc Cream
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Before using Dimethicone/Zinc Cream:
Tell your health care provider if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if the affected area has open sores or severe irritation
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Dimethicone/Zinc Cream. However, no specific interactions with Dimethicone/Zinc Cream are known at this time.
Ask your health care provider if Dimethicone/Zinc Cream may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.
How to use Dimethicone/Zinc Cream:
Use Dimethicone/Zinc Cream as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Wash your hands before and after using Dimethicone/Zinc Cream.
- Apply Dimethicone/Zinc Cream as needed with each diaper change, especially at bedtime or any time there may be prolonged exposure to wet diapers.
- Wash and completely dry the affected area. Apply enough medicine to completely cover the affected area and gently rub in.
- Do not wrap or bandage the treated area unless directed to do so by your doctor.
- Wipe the container with a clean, dry tissue after use.
- If you miss a dose of Dimethicone/Zinc Cream, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as directed by your doctor or on the package label.

Important safety information:
- Dimethicone/Zinc Cream is for external use only. Do not get Dimethicone/Zinc Cream in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you get Dimethicone/Zinc Cream in any of these areas, rinse them immediately with cool tap water.
- If the symptoms do not improve within 7 days, if they get worse, or if they clear up and then come back again, contact your doctor.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Dimethicone/Zinc Cream while you are pregnant. It is not known if Dimethicone/Zinc Cream is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Dimethicone/Zinc Cream, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Possible side effects of Dimethicone/Zinc Cream:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Dimethicone/Zinc Cream. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); severe, persistent, or worsening itching, burning, stinging, or irritation.
